Welcome to the International Collective of Children’s Digital Books, a voluntary think-tank dedicated to supporting children’s reading with digital technologies.

On this site you will find information and resources, recommendations, research and a members’ database – free to use and share.

Our members are international and interdisciplinary experts representing several professions: early childhood researchers, teachers/practitioners, children’s authors and illustrators, book publishers, app and e-book developers, librarians and literacy charity representatives. You can see the profile of all members in the members’ database. We recognise the significant potential of digital books to foster children’s language and story comprehension if they are well-designed and evidence-based. Our mode of working is based on the iRPD framework for guiding Research-Practice and Design of children’s apps and e-books in that we work across academia, practice and industry. The Collective was founded and is chaired by Professor Natalia Kucirkova.
